Pottery Olympics

Pottery Olympics

Saturday, August 29 · 10 am–4 pm

You've thrown pots. You've hand-built bowls. Now it's time to see what you've got — on a team, under a little friendly pressure, with a trophy on the line.

Pottery Olympics is a full day of clay-based events pulling from everything you've learned: handbuilding, wheel throwing, and a few surprises mixed in.

Teams of four tackle each event together, choosing who steps up for what — so the wheel whiz and the carving genius on your team both get their moment to shine.

How Teams Work

Sign up solo or bring your crew — either way, you'll land on a team of four. Solo entrants get placed on a team, so nobody sits this one out.

Once you're on a team, go all in. Pick a name. Coordinate outfits. Make a sign. Write a chant. The teams that show up with personality are always the ones having the most fun — and let's be honest, a good chant might just rattle the competition.

The Water-Themed Exhibit

Bring a finished piece inspired by water — however you interpret it — to enter into the exhibit.

Every entry needs a title and an artist statement, so start thinking now about what story your piece tells.

Who Can Compete

Open to anyone who has taken a pottery course. Beginner or seasoned, if you've had clay under your nails in a class here, you're eligible.

Cost

$35 per person  OR  $130 per team of four

Awards & Prizes

Medals, bragging rights, and prizes will be awarded across events — plus recognition for the exhibit entries. Get ready to defend your team's honor.
